Praying through Christ in the Spirit

Christian prayer is directed to the Father through the Son in the Holy Spirit. Prayer in the name of Jesus expresses communion with his person and mission, not a phrase that guarantees a requested outcome. Catholic prayer with Mary and the saints remains dependent on Christ. Different spiritual traditions can cultivate this common relationship with distinct emphases.
