Learning prayer with the Church

Learning to pray is supported by the communion of saints, families, parish communities, spiritual traditions, and wise guides. No guide replaces God or acquires unlimited authority over another person’s conscience. Traditions such as Benedictine, Franciscan, Carmelite, and Ignatian spirituality offer different ways of attending to the Gospel. Good guidance encourages freedom, humility, charity, and sound judgment.
