Forms of the Church's prayer

The Church’s prayer includes blessing, adoration, petition, intercession, thanksgiving, and praise. These forms complement rather than compete with one another. Public liturgy and personal prayer sustain each other, while intercession widens attention beyond private concerns. A mature prayer life can include requests for help without becoming only a list of desired results.
