Jesus at prayer

The Gospels show Jesus praying in solitude, at decisive moments, with his disciples, and in suffering. His prayer expresses a filial relationship with the Father and an openness to the Father’s will. He teaches persistence, forgiveness, trust, and the Our Father. Christian prayer follows him rather than treating his example as a formula for avoiding every difficulty.
