Prayer in Israel's Scriptures

Israel’s Scriptures teach prayer through Abraham, Moses, David, the prophets, and especially the Psalms. Covenant, worship, intercession, praise, and lament show a living relationship with God across both faithfulness and crisis. Christian use of these prayers should respect their Jewish setting. Praying a psalm invites attention to its speaker, imagery, and movement rather than isolating a line from its context.

How might lament be an act of trust rather than a failure of faith?
