The Lord's Prayer in Christian life

The Our Father gathers Jesus’ teaching on prayer into an address to God and seven petitions. It belongs both to personal prayer and the Church’s liturgy. Its movement joins the glory of God with ordinary needs, forgiveness, and deliverance. Learning its meaning can turn a frequently repeated prayer into a guide for desire, responsibility, and communion.
