Christian funerals

Christian funerals commend the dead to God, honor the body, and support those who grieve in resurrection hope. They do not presume to declare every deceased person already in heaven or treat grief as a failure of faith. Funeral rites, burial customs, and disciplines should be distinguished. Prayer for the dead and practical care for mourners continue after the funeral itself.
