Communion of saints

The communion of saints unites believers through Christ across earthly life and death. It includes sharing spiritual gifts, prayer, worship, and practical care. Asking saints to intercede is understood as participation in Christ’s one mediation, not a rival source of salvation. The communion also includes prayer for the dead and solidarity with Christians whose struggles remain unfinished.
