The Holy Spirit in salvation history

The Holy Spirit is a divine person, not an impersonal energy. The Spirit works throughout salvation history, prepares and sustains Christ’s mission, and forms the Church into a people of communion and witness. Pentecost reveals a mission crossing language and cultural boundaries. The Spirit’s gifts serve the good of the whole Church and must be discerned in charity.
