Ascension and heavenly intercession

Christ’s ascension expresses his glorified humanity entering the Father’s heavenly presence. It is not simply a departure that leaves the Church alone. Christ intercedes for humanity, and his disciples receive the mission to bear witness in the power of the Spirit. The liturgy joins this confidence with expectation of his return.

How can Christ’s exaltation deepen rather than weaken his presence to believers?
