Library introduction · Catechism 268–278

God's almighty power

God’s almighty power belongs with divine wisdom and love. It does not mean arbitrary behavior or the ability to contradict God’s own goodness. Christians see a surprising revelation of power in the cross and resurrection: God saves through self-giving love. Suffering makes belief in providence difficult; Catholic faith does not reduce that difficulty to a simple explanation for every tragedy.
