Catholic theology contains different schools and methods of inquiry, including patristic, scholastic, biblical, and spiritual approaches. Their disagreements can occur within a shared faith. An influential theologian’s proposal does not automatically become Church doctrine. Identify the question, the evidence, and the level of authority involved before treating a school’s preferred account as the only Catholic position.
