Justice and solidarity

Select a passage to highlight, add a note, or link it to a learning path.

Justice requires respect for every person’s dignity and the conditions needed for a genuinely human life. Solidarity recognizes that people’s lives are bound together across differences of wealth, nationality, race, and circumstance. Differences in gifts and resources create duties of mutual service, not a justification for contempt. Addressing unjust structures complements direct charity rather than replacing it.
