Leo the Great
Bishop of Rome; his Tome (Letter 28), addressed to Flavian of Constantinople on the two natures of Christ, was read aloud and acclaimed at the Council of Chalcedon (451) and became one of the council's doctrinal touchstones alongside its own separately-drafted Definition — the two documents are related but not identical, and should be cited as what they actually are.
