Church Father · c. AD 335–395
Gregory of Nyssa
Younger brother of Basil of Caesarea, one of the three Cappadocian Fathers, and the most philosophically speculative of the three. His letter To Ablabius ("On 'Not Three Gods'") is his best-known attempt to explain how Father, Son, and Spirit are each fully God without being three gods; his Great Catechism is an early systematic (if not scholastic) overview of Christian doctrine for instructing catechists.
