Ambrose of Milan

Bishop of Milan, a major influence on Augustine's conversion (who heard him preach, per Confessions VI and VIII). On the Mysteries is a mystagogic work — explanation of the sacraments given to the already-baptized, not to catechumens beforehand — a distinct genre from the baptismal instruction of Cyril of Jerusalem or the Apostolic Tradition.

Brief introduction from the source collection. A full library biography has not yet been prepared.
